The Kort / Porter Clan
Richard Alias "The Old Trooper"
Alicia Alias "Tumbleweed"
Richard has been with horses since 1970. He has two Arabs one of which
he would like to introduce to the shooting sport. He is retired from State Law
Enforcement for the past 10 years. His time is taken up with the
farm and home. He also helps out at the Deerfield Elementary school as a
reading tutor. Other than that he just keeps busy.
My lovely
wife, Marlene (the Porter part of the
Clan). She does not shoot with us but
she is the backbone of our operation.
She is there to make sure that we all
are on time for our shooting runs. She
helps with all the "Gopher" stuff.
Without her I am sure we would be
completely lost.
Info on
her day work. She is an attorney in the
Madison area. She has been in
partnership with another lawyer for the
past 19 plus years. I must say that she
is very dedicated to her profession. She
does enjoy trail riding with the rest of
the family. In fact she did agree to do
our vacation in 2004 at a Century farm
in northern Wisconsin. We trucked the
horses along and spent the week riding
both on the farm and in the National
Forest area.
Now about
Alicia. She is now 13 years of age and
is attending the Madison Country Day
school near Waunakee. She has been
riding for approximately 4 years. After
this last year of 2004 she will be
competing in the "Junior" class of
Mounted Shooting. She is looking
forward to this coming challenge. We
also have tagged her with an alias,
"Tumbleweed". She has not of yet
accepted this title. I am sure it will
grow on her.
